19 There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:20 And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores, 21 And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. 22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; 23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. 24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.
Very often you hear people talk about heaven as if it is some abstract thing that Christian scholars are trying to create. Some even say heaven is what you think in your minds. They have all kinds of interpretations of heaven different from what God said.
Heaven is not a man’s idea. Jesus spoke more about heaven than any of the writers of the Bible. Jesus never said that heaven is an imagination of the human mind, neither did He imply it by anything He said. He was emphatic about heaven as a definite place. He said He came from heaven and when He was ascending He told His disciples he was going to heaven.
The same truth applies to hell. Jesus spoke about hell more than any other biblical character. These two places represent what awaits men when they leave this earth. We know however, that God has done everything that is necessary for no one to miss heaven and thereby go to hell. Ask Jesus to come into your heart today and your place in heaven is guaranteed.
1. Pray for the Holy Spirit to open your heart to the reality of heaven so you do not follow people who are caught in their own opinions about heaven and hell.
2. Ask Jesus to help you walk on the narrow road that leads to heaven.
3. Father, I thank You for giving me free access to the kingdom of heaven which starts here on earth. I make Jesus my Lord and Savior to book my place in heaven, Amen.
I declare that I am a citizen of heaven. Jesus gave me that citizenship and no man can take it from me. I live on earth conscious of heaven and I declare by the grace of God that I will daily live a lifestyle that reflects that I am a citizen of the kingdom of God. I secure my place in heaven by faith in the name of Jesus.
