34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. 37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? 38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? 39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? 40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
One critical observation in the current times we are in is that everyone is trying to make life more comfortable for himself. Each of us is truly entitled to a decent life as we wait to transition into eternity, and that is perfectly in order.
Nevertheless, there is a down side to the efforts to live a decent life; we are tempted to ignore the underprivileged around us. Jesus acknowledged there will always be people who for one reason or the other have become disadvantaged in this life. This is not time to argue whose fault it is. This is time to show them some love.
Jesus wants us to know that He is always with us in several forms, including the poor who cannot have three square meals; in fact, some struggle to have one meal a day. He wants us to see Him in them so we will look out for them.
1. Ask God to open your eyes to see the needy around you and be more sensitive to their situation than you have been over the years.
2. Constantly ask God to direct you to a few specific needy people He wants you to help and do not draw back.
3. Father, please lead me to some soul today who needs help that you have placed within my reach and make me a blessing to them.
I declare that my heart is open to the needy. For as long as the Lord blesses me materially, I open my arms to those in need. I declare that all those assigned for me to be a blessing to I will locate. I declare that I am blessed to be a blessing to them in the name of Jesus.
