"These will wage war against the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, because He is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those who are with Him are the called and chosen and faithful."
Throughout the several generations of human existence, there has been a constant battle between the forces of light and the forces of darkness. Jesus Christ our Lord leads the forces of light against the devil and his demons. That explains what we go through as believers in our world today. The devil comes at us in several ways. There is no indication that this warfare is going to be over very soon. We know from what God has taught in His word that it will be over one day but not now.
Nevertheless, the believer is always assured of one thing – victory on every side. For all these years that the battle has been on, the forces of light have always overcome the forces of darkness. The victory that the world saw very clearly with no shadow of doubt was the victory at Calvary, sealed by the resurrection.
Today’s passage is giving us another dimension of the battle. This appears to be more of something in the future than in the past, and therefore confirms that anytime the devil comes against the children of God, victory for the children of God is assured. The Lamb will overcome them because He is also called the King of kings and Lord of lords.
No one can stand against the King of kings and prevail. No one comes against Jesus and prevails. Jesus said the gates of hell shall not prevail against His church. He knew that members of His church are human and subjected to all kinds of challenges, yet that declaration stands. This is where we get our victory from.
1. Thank God for the victory He won for us, a victory that cannot be revoked. No one can annul that victory at any time. Glory be to God.
2. Ask for stability in your faith, your mentality and attitude to enable you stand in this victory.
3. Father, I pray that You will keep my faith in You always high and unyielding, that I will be able to enjoy the victory that Jesus won for me when He defeated Satan at Calvary.
I declare that Jesus has overcome for me. This victory is truly mine and I stand fast on God’s word to experience all the blessings of Christ’s victory. I declare therefore by divine authority, that by the victory of the cross, I overcome all forces of darkness and lay hold of my inheritance in Christ in the name of Jesus.
