3 And one of the company said unto him, Master, speak to my brother, that he divide the inheritance with me. 14 And he said unto him, Man, who made me a judge or a divider over you? 15 And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.
One of the challenges facing every man on earth today is what to do when we have money. The more money we get, the more we want. The human heart is never satisfied with having. You talk with the billionaires of the world today. None of them will tell you they have had enough. They still want some more. Even after they have been named the richest man in the world, that is not enough for them.
The same Scriptures that assure us that God will bless us with material abundance among several other blessings, still warns us that the people who want to get rich fall into diverse temptations. No man seems to be immune to wanting more money even when they have several times more than they need for themselves. Jesus made a profound statement about wealth. He emphasized that a man’s life is not determined by how much he has. Your net worth in terms of your financial possessions is not what defines your life.
Though there may be exceptions, a lot of the people who have money want to be identified by how much they have, even if their personal lives are horrible. Pray that you possess all that is yours this year, but never let money be the driving force of your life.
1. Spend time thanking God for His faithfulness in giving you beyond your personal needs.
2. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you resist the temptation to chase after money your whole life.
3. Father, please help me. I would rather have Jesus than have all the world’s goods.
I declare in the name of Jesus that I will I walk in revelation about the blessings of the Lord upon my life. By this revelation, money will follow me; I will not chase money. I declare by divine authority, doors will open before me that no man can shut. I will prosper financially to the glory of my God. When I abound in riches, I will ensure God’s work will not suffer. I will use the blessings of God upon my life to support the work of God in the name of Jesus.
