Isaiah 54:10

10 Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,” says the LORD, who has compassion on you.

By now it is obvious that the atmosphere is filled with messages and images alluding to love because the whole world is talking about Valentine’s Day which is two days away. The sad thing though is that the kind of love being presented in these images is not the one that lasts. Red roses, outings, giving of gifts, etc. have become symbols of love. The commonest interpretation of these, is that love is a strong feeling. The feeling here is that of owning somebody. The enjoyment here is mostly out of the warm feeling created by the words spoken and the exchange of pleasantries.Much as these have a place in the relationship celebrated during this season, its strength to keep the relationship going however, is limited. People go through these festivities and the emotions and after the season go back to the unpleasant situations that have not been adequately dealt with.As we get excited about relationships between the opposite sex, particularly those married and others on the verge of marrying, let us also take this opportunity to pray that such relationships will last, having been built on the true solid love that God shows towards us. If you are in such a relationship, this is the time to reflect on what you have done in the past six months to consolidate the relationship.

May God breathe His unfailing love afresh in your heart as you go through this season of the celebration of human love. Let this new experience of God’s love in your heart begin a solid foundation for a valentine experience every week in your relationship.

1.Thank God for giving us the priviledge to enjoy human love without which our lives on earth could be a bit uninteresting.

2.Reflect on your relationship over the past six months and pray for grace to repeat the good things you did and move away from those things that hurt the relationship.

3. Father I thank You for giving me someone to live with for the rest of my life. Please help me make the relationship a lasting and enjoyable one.

I declare that I have the capacity to love my partner, either present or future beyond just a good feeling. I am going to love with the love that God has shed abroad in my heart by the Holy Ghost. I declare that it is well with us in the name of Jesus.
