Jeremiah 29:11-13

10 For thus saith the Lord, That after seventy years be accomplished at Babylon I will visit you, and perform my good word toward you, in causing you to return to this place.11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.12 Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

It is interesting that the God who spoke things into being all by Himself sometimes gets held up when He wants to bless the humanity He created. We often expect God to just do things because He has all the power to do them with no one stopping Him or standing in His way. God does not do things that way. He wants us involved in the things He wants to do for us.

Today‚Äôs passage highlights the critical act of asking Him for help. God said we should call on Him. He said we should seek Him. He said we should pray to Him. These are things that are not beyond the reach of any human being. God does not hear the rich man differently than He hears the poor man.  God does not discriminate in answering prayer.

The truth is that as a child of God, you do not need anyone to talk to your heavenly Father before He hears. There is a place for intercession, where others are called to stand in the gap. That is another category in the process of calling on God. The primary act is that you do the calling yourself and God will definitely hear you. Do it!

1.      Worship the God who listens to every prayer you offer to Him because He says you should call on Him.

2.      Ask for greater faith and confidence that God hears you when you pray.

3.     Father, please set me free from all that keeps me away from seeking Your presence; and teach me to pray.

I am privileged to have a Father who is ready to hear my prayer. I declare therefore in the name of Jesus that I cast aside all laziness and all that keeps me from simply calling on God at any time. Henceforth, I call upon the Lord, morning, noon and night, for as long as I am awake. I declare that as I call upon the Lord, miracles will be a daily occurrence in my life in the name of Jesus.
